Soldiers leaving Camp Wolters

Soldiers leaving Camp Wolters

“Dear Jerry,

Found out today that most of us are leaving Saturday for 13th Infantry at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. It is close to Columbia which is the Capitol of the State.

I’ll send more details when we get there so you can write there. A few fellows were sent to Snelling but they were 3 year men and are to be sent to Iceland from there. Not such a good break but I’ll see a lot more of the country.

I’ll try to write a letter before we go.

Beany”
