WWII Soldiers Suffering From Malaria

“Dear Folks,

Your gifts came just at the right moment. It’s my birthday and I am in a field hospital with Malaria, so your gifts were doubly appropriate. Thanx lots.

I’ll soon be over this Malaria business though and be as good as ever. Aside from that nothing is new. Oh yes, I almost forgot. I am getting to be an old man now. Time passes slowly, but birthdays come too fast. I have a lot of living I want to do yet, if I survive this thing.

Love, Lorne”
