Wounded soldiers on New Guinea, 1943

“Dear Kids,

I heard from Lorne yesterday- 3 letters written the 19th & 20th of Aug. and Sept. 10th. He is evidently in New Guinea because he has been in combat constantly and says I must guess where he is by the news. He’s O.K.- so far- and says to greet all the folks. Poor guy. Seems like an endless offensive for him.

Dad and Susan are playing Rummy. We were up at Iversons for dinner today. Inky came home on leave.

Love to you both-Milly”
