“Dear J. & J.,

This will only be a note but it is at least news from me. I am feeling fine and of course quite busy. I haven’t heard from any of you for some time but no doubt you’ve written. You know you will have to be content with short letters which may not contain much news but I’ll write as often as I’m able.

You perhaps have your Gov’t job by now and quite proud you must be. Don’t think I tried interfering by those suggestions of mine- you know what’s best about your own business.

The last I heard Dad and Inga were both getting better and that was encouraging to hear. I suppose you all had a nice Thanksgiving together. We had a nice dinner but no turkey!

Let me know when any of you hear from Cliff- he must have gone a long ways.

Remember not to send me anything for Xmas but a package of non-perishable food once in awhile would taste good.

Love, Beany”
