Troop Basketball, WWII

“Dear Jean and Jerry,

Sorry for the delay again- since I wrote last I rec’d the swell pkge you sent. Everything was very good. I get plenty of cigarettes now so you won’t have to send anymore.

We won the division Championships and it ended our season. Our whole battalion seen the finals and the cheering reminded me of the days in high school. I guess I scored about a dozen points that night. Ahem! and at my age!

Thanks for the Easter card- I wasn’t able to send any. Also my heartiest congrats to you both on the second anniversary which will be soon. It hardly seems that long ago since we donned those Tuxedos. I still have the invitation to the wedding with me. Remember the gay ride thru the city. I felt like a big shot that night. How come you guys left so early that night?

Love, Beany”
