“Dear Jean & Jerry,
I just finished writing to Beany and to Mom, Milly and Susan so now I’ll try to get a few lines off to you, too. I’ve had no mail from you or Beany this past week but Mom’s letters have been coming as usual.
Today I finished work a little early- I’m writing this in our day room, which was finished a couple of weeks ago. This is a nice day- a cool breeze is blowing in from the ocean. It reminds me of a nice spring day back home.
Last night I saw a movie at our Red Cross building. It was ‘A Guy Named Joe’ with Spencer Tracy and Irene Dunne- a very good picture. I imagine you have seen it.
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I hope Mom gets the plant I ordered for her. I don’t think she should work at all- what do you think of it, Jerry? I received birthday cards from Milly and Susan- they were sent from Appleton. I’m sure your gift will reach me soon.
Hope to get a letter from you in the mail tonight. Bye for now.
Love, Cliff”
