“Dear Jean and Jerry,

I haven’t heard much from you lately but I haven’t written so often either. Things are as well as ever with me only I’m growing very tired of Army routine. I keep thinking of that fine Minn. weather and all the golf and fishing I could be doing.

We had a big track and field day last week and our company won high honors. I won first on a compass course march and helped in a couple other events. We celebrated our victory with a co. party that night. Even done 5’2″ in the high jump which even surprised me. Don’t know whether to believe I’m still not so old or whether it’s my good physical condition.

I see you’ve been helping Mother a lot and want you to know I think it’s fine of you. How’s my beautiful Sis-in-Law feeling? Hope the ailment is remedied now. Better be in good shape for our celebration after we make Jerry call it quits.

Greet the friends of mine that you see.

Love, Beany”
