Allied Troops Unload Equipment And Supplies On Omaha Beach

“Dear Jean & Jerry,

Tonight I received eight letters and among them was yours of May 31st. Also received several papers, two boxes of candy and my birthday present this week. Thanks a lot for the bracelet- I like it very well and have often wished I had one. It fits perfect.

So glad to hear you enjoyed such a nice birthday, Jerry. You were well remembered with gifts, too. Hope you like your work at Armouse’s.

A letter came from Beany tonight- dated April 28th. Perhaps by now he is in combat- if he is, I pray that no harm will come to him and that the war will end over there soon. He will write when he can so we must be patient. Try to keep Mom and Milly in good spirits.

I would like to have a picture of Dad’s grave. I had thought of asking you to send one. Mom sent three more snapshots- one of you, Jerry. You look good! How about a snapshot of Jean!

Love, Cliff”
