“Dear J. & J.,

Today we got your package. Thank you so much for the stockings. I sure needed some to. I said to Milly I should have bought some and told her I may get some from the kids for Easter. Thanks again.

Milly is so thrilled over her jacket and fits her perfect and Lorne sure liked his pajamas,. They had to open the pkge today as Susan said that pkge is for me and cried so. When Milly opened it the ones for her was at the top, see mother I told you Jerry and Jean sent me something. When any of us have a birthday of course its hers to.

I ordered a big cake in Columbus for them both and am putting on 65 candles on it. Milly is 32 and Lorne 33 years. I got Milly a beautiful bed jacket, as she always wanted one and Lorne a golf glove and some tees.

They are having a family over Thurs nite for supper. Some people who had us over for supper one night before I left. Their home is in Fargo and are Norwegians. Hes a Lt. Col. to and loves to play whist with me.

Milly and a friend of hers was to Atlanta, GA yesterday. Milly got a new hat. Its so cute. She gave me a pr of white gloves. She wanted me to go to but I felt I couldnt afford it as its 100 miles from Columbus. They left Columbus at 9:30 am came back 9:15 pm. Lorne met them at the train.

This afternoon we are asked to our neighbor lady for coffee. Am sending your Dad a card today Jean. I just forgot its his birthday today. Milly is to.

Well I wont be writing anymore now as I leave here Tues. Apr. 3rd at 8:15 am. Will get to Mpls Wed nite sometime. I’ll call you when I get there from Ingas.

My last letter from Beany was Mar. 13 and Cliff Mar. 12. The war is soon over in Europe Lorne said.

I’ll see you soon and Milly will write you soon.

Happy Easter.

Mother”
