Filipino Cock Fights 1945

Filipino Cock Fights 1945

“Dear Jean & Jerry,

Yesterday I received your V-mail of May 21st- also letters from Mom and Buck Karstadt, two packages, eight newspapers and a book of G.I. Cartoons from Milly & Lorne. This was my first mail in several days- are my letters reaching you in good time?

Right now you are enjoying your vacation. Hope you have nice weather for it. Did you go to a lake? Be sure to send me some snapshots.

Yesterday I visited a nearby town. I met some boys from our unit who are also on detached service. We saw some cock fights which are very interesting- it is a favorite sport with the Filipinos. I’ll tell you more about them in another letter. I’m looking forward to receiving your package. I am getting along fine.

Love,

Cliff”
