“Dear Kids,

I heard from Lorne yesterday- 3 letters written the 19th & 20th of Aug. and Sept. 10th. He is evidently in New Guinea because he has been in combat constantly and says I must guess where he is by the news. He’s O.K.- so far- and says to greet all the folks. Poor guy. Seems like an endless offensive for him.
